You came into this world
On March 16, 1956
A bundle of joy whose life
Had only just begun

With two siblings before
And four that followed 
You became an integral part
Of what we were to become

A family, guided in life
By the beacons of light, Mom and Dad,
Who instilled in us the meaning of true love
That has served as the essence of our existence.

Then you left
To pursue your dreams 
And with a law degree in hand
You set out to change the world

And while the passion of your work
Consumed your professional life
Your role as a brother and a friend
Grew stronger every day.

Then you met your lovely wife
Then of course the kids arrived
To your utter joy two of them
Gabriela and Jose

You nurtured them, you guided them
To help them on their way
A gift of love you gave to them
Each and every day

Then the sickness hit
You battled on as long as you could stand
A battle fought for way too long
for any other man

But throughout your battles
It was never about you
But everybody else
Who mattered most to you

Through it all
You grew in stature
You are my hero
My brother and my friend

When heaven was needing a hero
God called to you
It was time to join dad
There was no more time to wait

Know you leave this world 
In a far far better state
And while your flame on this earth stopped burning

'Jose always had a gleem in his eye and a softness of the spirit that told people what a genuine kind person is all about. Jr.Sr. school then later on Jose would point out what some of us guys were doing incorrect that showed he cared. Many times he would stop what he was doing and give a moment to listen to people's needs. America is losing this kind of spirit. Truly our friendship will be missed. Our most sincere condolences to the entire Perales family.'

'My heart and prayers go out to the Perales Familia. I was sad to hear the news about my cousin. Jose took care of a divorce for me many years ago. I saw him years later at a family reunion and I said to him, "You divorced me and my ex years ago, do you remember?" He said, "Was that a good thing or a bad thing?" We laughed and I said, "It was a good thing!" I will always remember his kindness and his beautiful smile.'
