Jose Angel Santiago-Alcano

Jose Angel Santiago Alcano, born April 14, 1957, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2016, at the age of 59. He is preceded in death by his mother, Angela Alcano. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Santiago Gueits; daughter, Suzette Santiago; son, Alex Santiago and Joao Teixeira and Ronald Teixeira who he raised; father, Jose Antonio Santiago; sister, Yvonne Santiago; brothers Jose Antonio Santiago Jr. and Miguel Santiago, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family member, and friends.

Jose was a hard worker, and led a busy life retiring from the military after a very successful 22 years of recognized service. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Wayland Baptist University and his Master’s Degree at Webster University while working in the civil service for 11 years.

Jose was an amazing husband, father and friend. His joyfulness, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life touched many. He will be deeply missed by everyone that had the honor of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A procession will depart the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. for a 10:45 a.m. committal service in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, TX 78209.
