Jose Carmelo Silva

Jose Carmelo Silva born on July 16, 1949 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico was called to be with the Lord on May 14, 2014 at the age of 64. Carmelo had a passion for music. He could usually be found surrounded by his family and friends laughing and joking. In Carmelo’s later years, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren, and often let them get away with things his own children only wished they could. During his working years, Carmelo was a carpenter, bus driver, and a commercial truck driver. He is preceded in death by his son, Miguel Angel Silva; parents, Zeferino and Maria Esther Silva; brothers, Seferino Silva Jr. and Pilar Silva. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary R. Silva; children, Joe Silva (Jenny), Daniel Silva and Raquel Tijerina (Jim); grandchildren; Violet Tijerina, Shelby Silva, Matthew Tijerina, Sabrina Silva, Jason Tijerina, and Adalyn Rae Silva; sisters: Natalia Silva, Francisca Dimas, Consuelo Silva, Cristina Dragustinovis, Guadalupe Silva, Felipa Silva and Graciela Herrera; brother, Isidro Silva; also, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday May 18, 2014 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday May 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in San Jose Burial Park.
