Josefina Chapa Villarreal

Our beloved Mom, Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Friend, Josefina Chapa Villarreal, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 14, 2019 with her family at her side. Always thinking of others, she led a very unselfish, giving life. She instilled compassion toward others, leaving a legacy of kindness throughout.

Josefina loved people ~ she had a vibrant personality. She was also a hard-working, ambitious entrepreneur. She held several jobs to support her young family and put herself through cosmetology school. Early on she owned her own restaurant and began investing in real estate. But the business she took the greatest joy in was Sandy's Beauty Salon, which she owned and operated in the King William neighborhood for over 28 years. She loved her clients and making people beautiful, many becoming close friends.

Mom was also a wonderful cook. We will all miss our favorite dishes that only she knew the secret ingredients that made everything so delicious and unforgettable. She taught her children the belief of strong faith, hard work, and the value of education for their future success throughout their lives.

Josefina is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Maria Gonzalez Chapa and siblings Hector, Pedro, and Ricardo Chapa, and Hilda Neri. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Baldemar E. Villarreal; their children: Sandra Villarreal Ross (Steve); Cynthia Villarreal Siller and Baldemar Villarreal, Jr.; grandchildren: Samantha E. Siller, Andrew M. Siller, Isabella J. Ross, Cassandra S. Ross; great grandchildren: Olivia R. Rodriguez and her two siblings: Camilla Sandoval and Lydia Sanchez.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21st from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough.
