He was born October 30, 1918 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Helen Valcik and Andrew Macnak.
He was a kind, loving father and his family is proud to celebrate and honor his life by acknowledging his devotion, service and meritorious career in the Army, in which he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Joe was also active for many years in Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Order of The Arrow Vigil.
He and his late wife, Mary, opened Mac's Flowers in 1950, which is currently owned and operated by their son, Glenn.
He is survived by his children, Joseph and wife, Donna, Glenn and wife, Lucy and James; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Nicole, Jennifer, Eric, Natalie, Lauren and six great grandchildren, Emily, Samuel, Treshayla, Matthew, Bryshanna and Jaci.
