
Born April 27, 1952, to Louis and Eleanor D’Amico Saglimbeni in Geneva, Joseph was a talented concert pianist, a passionate wine enthusiast, and a successful entrepreneur.
He graduated from Geneva High School in 1970 and went on to earn both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music from SUNY Fredonia. During his time at Fredonia, he won the New York State Piano Competition and later spent over two decades performing and teaching music. In 1993, driven by a passion for wine, he founded JS Fine Wine and Spirits, which became a prominent wine destination in San Antonio for the next 30 years. His life exemplified his dedication to his craft and his entrepreneurial spirit.
He is survived by siblings Karen Saglimbeni Brennan, Robert Saglimbeni (Diana), Alison Saglimbeni Seeley (Martin), and Kristen Saglimbeni Faulkner (Devin); nephews Michael Seeley, and William and James Peterson, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Eleanor Saglimbeni, and his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Venuti Saglimbeni, and Nazarene and Mary Pane D'Amico.
Joe loved playing the piano, gathering with friends to enjoy exceptional food and wine, and spending time with his faithful dogs, Lenny and Baldwin. He was known for his generosity, always making sure that his family, friends, and employees felt cared for and cherished.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct 27, 2-6pm at his home on Link Dr. in San Antonio. A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10 am. at St. Francis deSales church in Geneva, New York, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the San Antonio Humane Society, and The Rosary Shrine of St. Jude, organizations close to Joseph's heart.
