
He participated in many school and church functions, and became the first Eagle Scout in Hugo. Upon completion of high school, he joined the family auto business and later the CCC and civil service. While assigned to the Oklahoma District CCC, he met Dorothy Griffin. They married on 6 June 1942.
LTC Wyatt enlisted in the Army in October 1942 for duty in the Army Airways Communications Service and quickly advanced from Private to Master Sergeant. After discharge in February 1946, he remained in the Reserve Force and returned to Civil Service. Commissioned a 2nd Lt. in Apr 1948, he was called to Active Duty in October 1950.
After serving at every level of Command, from Squadron to Headquarters USAF, he retired in October 1969 as a Lt. Colonel, and again, returned to Civil Service until 1980. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 438, Arlington, Texas.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Dorothy G. Wyatt; daughter, Joann Webster Fassnidge and husband, Warner Fassnidge; son, Rev. James Keith Wyatt and wife, Molly Wyatt; five grandchildren: Brian Y. Webster and wife Amye Webster; Sarah Carter and husband, Chris Carter; Amy Atkinson and husband, Danny Atkinson; Katherine Hellums and husband, Patrick Hellums; Rebecca Anne Wyatt; and six great grandchildren.
