Josephine Julia Colvin

She was a graduate of Rice University '54 and received her master's of education at University of Houston.

Jo taught elementary school for over 20 combined years in Alvin, TX where she taught Nolan Ryan, Galveston and locally at St. Mark's Episcopal Day School and Shenendoah/Howsman Elementary in Northside ISD.

She and Art were longtime members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where she served with Lenten Luncheons, Altar Guild, Daughters of the King and Lay Eucharistic Ministry.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Arthur Monroe Colvin.

She is survived by her son John Colvin and his wife Jane; daughter, Dr. Sarah Colvin and her husband, Dr. Richard McFarland; grandchildren, Madeleine and Marcel Colvin, Sean and Anna Howard and Meghan and Erin McFarland; brothers, Frank Truksa, Dr. John Truksa and Charles Truksa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is much loved and will be missed by her family, those at the church, her bible study group and her 5am gym buddies.
