Jovita Y. Ortiz, age 90, of San Antonio, died Sunday, March 2, 2003. Mrs. Ortiz was a mother, housewife, community services volunteer and recipient of the Friends of Education Award. She was also a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Ortiz and her husband, Cruz Gonzalez Ortiz. Survivors: daughters, Maria del Socorro Ortiz Kypuros and husband, Basilio Kypuros and Alice Ortiz Hafez; son, Cruz Antonio Ortiz and wife, Maria Palomo; grandchildren, Marie Kypuros Howard, Basilio Anthony Kypuros, Richard R. Kypuros, Hala Christina Hafez, Cruz Antonio Ortiz, Jr., Rene Ortiz and Rodrigo Ortiz; numerous great grandchildren.
