Joyce Lynn Collins

Joyce was born on September 20,1967 and passed into eternal rest on October 2, 2022. She leaves behind her mother, Sharon Cain Collins; aunts, Mary Kay Cain, Debbie Lochridge, Joyce Lohse; uncle, J.C Cain; and numerous cousins. Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Meg Collins; grandparents, Margerite and Cecil Cain; and aunt, Patty Cain.Joyce graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University of Georgia and a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado. During her service as a Major in the Air Force, Joyce completed her final assignment as a physics instructor at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After her separation from the Air Force, Joyce spent the rest of her professional career at USAA.Following retirement, Joyce immersed herself in her lifelong passion for writing poetry. Joyce’s poetry courageously addresses the full spectrum of the human experience. Her poetic works are published internationally and reflect great appreciation by her reading audience.

A Memorial Service will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North on October 20, 2022, at 10am. A Memorial Mass will also be held on October 21, 2022, at 2pm on the premise of Villas of San Antonio.
