He was a Retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Devoted to his family and St John Berchmans Church, Juan was always there to help and volunteer his time with his witty sense of humor and occasional country style Johnny witisms. He spent over 25 years serving his country that was dear to his heart. He has spent his time in Alaska, Hawaii, North Dakota, West Germany and retired in San Antonio, Texas.
Not one to sit idly, Juan spent a couple more years being a bus operator for VIA Metropolitan Transit. He was dedicated to his position and helped many tourists around downtown San Antonio; especially on the trolley!
He enjoyed time with his family especially with his grandchildren and the pets. Gellie, Tilly, and Sora will sorely miss his attention and many treats.
He is preceded in death by his beloved “Querida” wife Esperanza “Hope” Esquivel; his parents Marcelino C. and Eulalia V. Esquivel; siblings Marcela Esquivel, Natividad E. Esquivel and Monica E. Castro.
He is survived by his loving children Ida (Andrew) Rasa, Jo Ann (Erik) Armenta, Juan Antonio Esquivel II and Michael Stephen Esquivel; grandchildren, Luke Armenta and Sierra Armenta; siblings Felipa (Luis) Espinoza, Angelita (Raymundo) Garcia, Juana Adela (Larry) Lee, Jose (Mirasol) Esquivel, Eduardo (Inez) Esquivel, Marcelino Jr (Irene) Esquivel, Alberto Esquivel, Roberto (Bertha) Esquivel, Louis (Dolores) Esquivel, David Esquivel, Daniel (Frances) Esquivel, Miguel (Ruby) Esquivel and Maria Isabel Esquivel; brother-in-law Juan Castro and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
