Juan Felipe Gonzalez

Juan Felipe Gonzalez, age 91, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 26, 1931 in Laredo, Texas, to parents, Leopoldo and Maria Vicenta Rodriguez Gonzalez. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1948 at the age of 17, and continued his service with the United States Air Force after it was established in 1947 where he retired at the rank of Major. After active duty, he worked as a hydrologic technician for the International Boundary and Water Commission in Laredo and as an instructor at the high school and college levels. After his full retirement, he enjoyed traveling across the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 58 years, Oralia Gonzalez, sisters, Maria Concepcion Lara and Maria del Refugio Uvalle, and brother, Leopoldo Gonzalez, Jr.

Juan is survived by his daughters, Dr. Lydia L. Gonzalez-Villarreal (Javier) and Leticia McIver (Mike); grandchildren, Felipe E. Villarreal (Kelly), Luis A. Villarreal, Matthew McIver (Linh), and Lauren Lemus (Jorge); great-grandchildren, Brandy, Amelia, Liliana, Jorge, and John; sister, Gloria Gonzalez (Emilio); and brothers, Gilberto Gonzalez, and Onofre Gonzalez (Lorrie). The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Porter Loring North Mortuary.
