Judith M. Evans, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas. Judy was born on July 23, 1940 in Washington DC. In 1945, her family moved to Greenbelt, Maryland, where she grew up and met her husband of over 60 years, Roger Evans.
Everywhere Judy went people loved her zest for life, her infectious laughter, and her refreshingly candid sense of humor.
Judy always created a welcoming, friendly home for herself and her family as they moved for Roger’s career. In rural Mt. Airy, MD, she learned crocheting, canning, and pickling and she had fruit trees and a vegetable garden on their acre of land. In Austin, TX, she livened up the Lockheed Ladies’ bridge games by introducing wine to their gatherings. When they returned to their hometown in their sixties, Judy even taught Sunday School to children at the Greenbelt Baptist Church.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Madelyn Moore. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Roger Evans; their children: Jack Evans (Nora), Terri Jacobson (Jake) & Edward Evans (Cindi); and their grandchildren: Clinton, Jessica, Blake, Justin & Travis. Judy is also survived by all her younger siblings: Brian Moore, George Moore, Marsha Gielen, David Moore and Pam Colby.
