On Saturday, March 22, 2025 heaven received a loving and adventurous soul. Judith Louise Morris Scott was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 10, 1946 to Wilma Elizabeth Pipkin and Mac Stevens Morris. Judy lived a life full of love and yearning for knowledge and adventure that took her around the world to all seven continents. Judy graduated from Jefferson High School where she met JFK on a Journalism assignment, enjoyed performing with the Lassos, and met the love of her life, Bill Scott. She studied Journalism and Education at the University of Texas, where she began her travels abroad studying in England and Ireland. After graduation, she and Bill married and she began teaching in Waco, Texas. From there she and Bill spent a few years in Fort Worth where she enjoyed teaching and sharing Bill’s love of sailing. They moved back to San Antonio in 1973 and began their own family. While raising her son and daughter, Judy directed the Mother’s Day Out program at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church. When her children began school, Judy returned to teaching Geography and World History where she shared her love of traveling with students from Wood Middle School for 16 years. The students loved Judy’s classes and her personal photos, mementos, and videos which brought the faraway places closer to home. While teaching and raising her children, Judy continued her traveling, remained active in her church UMW group and neighborhood women’s club, ran 3 marathons, and learned to fly. Judy finished her teaching career at MacArthur High School and then retired to enjoy her grandchildren, travel, and raise her longhorns at their ranch in Mountain Home. Throughout her life, Judy enthusiastically shared her love of her family, traveling, corvettes, and her UT Longhorns. Judy is survived by her husband of 58 years, William Thomas Scott; her sister Ann Morris Cockrell (m Leroy Cockrell,) and brother Mac Morris, Jr (m Debbie Morris;) her children Clinton Scott (m Lisa Woody Scott,) and Cindy Scott; and her grandchildren Courtney Demers, Hayden Scott, Shane Scott, and Alex Scott.
