Judyth was born on July 16, 1946, in Joplin, Missouri, to Ora and Ferol Todd. From a young age, she embodied a strong sense of purpose and determination that would guide her throughout her life. She was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School, class of 1964.
At a time when the insurance industry was largely dominated by men, Judyth carved out a space for herself through dedication and resilience. She became a successful insurance agent and later founded her own insurance service, where she proudly served clients with professionalism and care. Judyth never formally retired, continuing to work actively in her business until her final days—an achievement she considered one of her greatest.
On December 16, 1967, she married Stanley Gorden Whiting, Sr., and together they shared 57 years of marriage built on mutual respect, faith, and deep love. Judyth was a devoted wife and mother who brought strength and compassion into every aspect of her family life.
A longtime member of First Baptist Church of San Antonio, Judyth’s faith anchored her, shaping the way she lived and served others. Her quiet strength, integrity, and sense of responsibility made her a respected presence in both her community and profession.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Judyth is survived by her devoted husband, Stanley Gorden Whiting, Sr., and her son, Stanley Gorden Whiting, Jr., and his husband, Lorenzo Devora, III.
Visitation will be held on Wedneday, June 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North, located at 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
