Katherine G. Martinez

Born on July 12, 1938, in San Antonio, TX, the oldest of six children, Katherine dedicated her life to her family. In November of 1956, she married the love of her life, Martin Martinez, and was happily married for 36 years. Together, they raised 5 children in San Antonio and enjoyed spending summers traveling the United States, always on to a new adventure.

She lived a life of unwavering kindness, quiet strength, and a steadfast commitment to her family and faith. Katherine was the matriarch of our family, and her legacy will live on in the traditions she passed down, the values she taught us, and the love she so freely gave. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Martin Martinez and her son Martin Martinez Jr. She is survived by her children Diane Coronado, Carol (Darrell) Frail, Sylvia (Arthur) Valdez, Norma Martinez, her brothers Joe Guadarrama and Rueben Garza, along with 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and countless friends who loved her.

We will gather to honor and celebrate her life on Friday, June 27th, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A visitation will be held at 9:00 am with a rosary starting at 9:30 am and mass at 10:00 am. Burial services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home with a reception immediately following the burial services at the funeral home.
