
Kathryn attended St. Mary's Hall, graduated from Jefferson High School, Class of '37, attended San Antonio College and graduated from University of Texas Class of '41.
She married Jack Bruce Howard, Sr. who was killed in World War II. They had one son, Jack Bruce Howard, Jr., of Kingsbury, Texas.
Kathryn later married William Jennings Murray on June 10, 1946 and they had two sons, William Michael Murray of Austin, Texas; Timothy Good Murray deceased; and one daughter, Kathryn Laurens Murray of Austin, Texas.
In 2000, Kathryn married Louis O. Gueldner, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas.
Kathryn's memory will also be cherished by her two grandsons, Bruce Casas and Patrick Howard; two great grandchildren, Evelyn Grace and James Preston; and brother, Preston H. Dial of San Antonio Texas. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Tommye Brennan Howard.
Her sister, Virginia Dial Spring preceded her in death.
Kathryn taught kindergarten at Mrs. Preston Dial's School for Little Children. She was a member of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, Zeta Tau Alpha, Secretary of the Bexar Kiwanis Club, Secretary of Town Club of San Antonio, President for the Women's Society and member of the Kidney Foundation of South Texas.
Kathryn was instrumental in building of the Dialysis Children's Facility at YMCA Camp Cullen in Trinity, Texas. She was active in San Antonio Museum of Art, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, San Antonio Conservation Society and Founding Member of IPG.
Kathryn was raised in Olmos Park and she was a resident of Terrell Hill for over 50 years.
Kathryn enjoyed traveling, hunting, outdoors, giving and attending parties, cooking and study of Ancient Cultures.
Honorary pallbearers are: Walter G. Lagerquist, Billy Sansing, Richard Dugger, John Loyd, Garland Jones and Charlie Cheever, Jr.
