
Kathryn Borman Stevens passed away on January 30, 2009. Kay was born on August 29, 1917 in Plainfield, New Jersey, and graduated from Alfred University where she majored in English and was a member of Epsilon Chi Nu Sorority. She met her future husband, LTC Russell E. Stevens, Jr., on the beach in Lavallette, New Jersey, where both were vacationing with their families. They were married three days after the Pearl Harbor attack, and shared a life of service to America followed by a successful career in real estate and insurance that also included two terms as First Lady of Randolph, New Jersey. Kay and Russ retired to San Antonio in 1972, and enjoyed a happy, full life together until his death in 1995. Kay will be best remembered for her infinite love and devotion to all her family and friends, as well as her guidance and encouragement. Kay was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn Borman, who died in the flu epidemic of 1918, her parents, Charles and Florence Borman, and her son, LTC Russell E. Stevens, III. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Wandrisco and her husband Bob; her seven grandchildren and two great grand children: John Wandrisco and his wife Charlene with their daughter Kate; Kathryn Wandrisco Mosty and her husband Dixon with their son Tristan; Russell E. Stevens, IV; Eric Stevens and his wife Susan; Sean Stevens; Claudia Stevens Zadworney and her husband, Bryan; and Matthew Stevens and his wife Niki.
