

Kaye Lynn Epstein Newberger passed away on December 10, 2018, in Houston, Texas. Kaye was born to Abraham and Beverly Epstein in Sioux City, Iowa, on December 1, 1939. Later, her family made their home in San Antonio, Texas, where Kaye attended and graduated from Saint Mary's Hall. She went on to attend college at Berkeley, Harvard, and Sophie Newcomb College. Kaye was an avid reader and writer. She has written a novel and a play. Kaye was a gourmet and aficionado of all things French. She loved to travel and enjoyed her time spending summers in Beaulieu Sur-Mer.
Kaye met the love of her life, Seth Newberger, who she was married to for 55 years. Kaye and Seth resided in New York City, where she was involved with the arts and enjoyed many friendships. New York City was always Kaye's second home. She was on the board of the San Antonio Symphony and lectured at the McNay Art Institute and Saint Mary's Hall.
Kaye's main love in her life was her family. Kaye is survived by her husband of 55 years, Seth Newberger; her daughter and son in law, Abigail Reiner and Howard Reine;, her beloved grandson, Nicholas Robbins; cousins, Michael Mehl (Larry), Judy Steinberg (Sylvan), Joe Robinowitz (Marjorie), Ken Robinowitz (Julie), Robert Robinowitz (Randi), Gerald Goldstein (Chris); lifelong friends, Joan Huntress and Lynn Ballan; and caregivers, Gloria Pineros and Julie Jalandoni.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. at Beth-El Cemetery on Palmetto Street, 1350 East Crockett, San Antonio, Texas 78202.
