Kenneth Frank Brown

Kenneth Frank Brown, age 90, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021, in Schertz, Texas. A lifelong Texan, Ken graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas in 1952 with a double major in English and Biblical Greek. He earned his Master’s of Divinity and Master’s of Theology in Biblical Greek from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in 1959, and went on to study Educational Psychology at the University of Texas, Austin.

Ken pastored Baptist churches for fifty years. He served at South Leon Missionary Baptist Church, Nevada Baptist Church, Marsalis Park Baptist Church, Brookhill Baptist Chapel, Kirby Baptist Church, Walker Memorial Baptist Church. After he retired, Ken taught Greek and Bible for 10 years at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville, Texas and published What If?: A Collection of First-Person, New Testament Sermons.

Ken was dearly loved and will be dearly missed. His arms were strong. His feet were beautiful. His smile was healing. His voice was laden with love and life. He was an ever-loving, ever-gracing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—and a gentle, brilliant, still-shining light to generations of God’s children. He was a shepherd. Goodness and love followed him all the days of his life, and he will dwell in the house of his Lord forever.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Lottie Brown; his brother, Robert Brown; his grandson, Ric Terry; and great-grandson, Jeremiah Batongmalaki. Ken was survived by his wife of 69 years, Susan Swander Brown; their five children, Lynda Maxwell, Kathryn Terry, Rebecca Atnip, Thomas Brown, and Jennie Marie Koger; sixteen grandchildren; and more great-grandchildren than anyone could count.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Thousand Oaks Bible Church.
