Kenneth C. Mason

Kenneth Carlton Mason, age 90, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 in San Antonio. He was born on December 17, 1927 in Pleasant Hill, Texas to Carlton and Sarah (Thomas) Mason. Kenneth graduated from Thorndale High School where he was on the football team. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served at the end of WWII. After discharge from active duty, he moved to Corpus Christi and met his future wife. Kenneth had a long career with Valero Energy Company and retired from there in 1989.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Kathy Aguirre (Michael); son, Robert Mason (Audrey); daughter, Gayle Medina; grandchildren, Jordan Kinsler, Krystal Medina and Michelle Aguirre; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Diaz, Elias Alexander Sosa and Parker Lynn Kinsler; sisters, Dorothy Conoley (Blake) and Mildred Kasner; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank personnel at The Landing at Stone Oak and Kindred Hospice Care for the wonderful care and attention given to Kenneth.

Inurnment with Military Honors will be on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 9:45 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church where Kenneth and Marilyn were active members for almost 40 years.
