After Ken graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1941, he attended Draughons Business College.
From time to time, he had seen a little cotton-topped girl skating across from the school. She lived in an apartment house across the street from the college.
Ken served 38 months in the Army Air Core during World War II. After being discharged from the Army Air Core, Ken started working as a plant assigner for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in San Antonio. (Mary is still a member of the Southwest Bell Pioneers). A friend of Ken's from the Army Air Core was attending Chiropractic College and asked Ken to sit in class with him at the school. He liked it so much he decided to enroll in it immediately.
After being in practice for 54 years, he retired from his main office in December of 2003. He then practiced out of his home part time for another 6 years where he finally retired at age 85 years old.
During the years of chiropractic practice, a friend he had worked with at the telephone company came to him as a patient. A co-worker of the friend mentioned to him that she was having back trouble and he suggested she go see Ken.
Mary became a patient and sometime later they started dating. After many conversations and getting to know each other, he discovered Mary was the little cotton-topped girl he had seen roller skating across the street from Draughons Business College. They married in 1967.
