Kenneth G. Woods, Jr.

He was raised in several places, including Japan, because his father was serving in the Navy, but graduated from Waco High School in 1964. From there, Ken attended the University of Texas for two years before enlisting in the Air Force. It was at UT where he met his wife of 47 years, Sharon Ramsey.

They were married in September 1967 after Ken finished his first year of service. During most of his 20 years, Ken was a computer programmer for the Manpower Personnel Command at Randolph Air Force Base, serving briefly in the Air Force band prior to this assignment. After retiring from the Air Force, Ken continued working as a computer programmer for the Express-News and later for Billing Concepts until his death.

Ken had a strong faith and was a very involved member at Northside Church of Christ. He could be counted on in the Men's class, his Life Group, Senior's ministry as well as serving as a greeter. He built many close relationships during his years of membership there.

Having been a widower since January, 2015, Ken is survived by three siblings: John Woods, Charles Woods, and Sherry Graham; three children and their spouses: Craig and Lisa Zimmerman, Scott and Cathi Woods, and Sean and Paula Woods, as well as ten grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, January, 3, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
