

Kimberly Ann Potts - mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and teacher - age 40, passed away at her parents’ home on Wednesday, August 11, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a fighter, and fought long and hard against breast cancer for four years.
Born May 22, 1970 in Savannah, Georgia, to Robert Wesley Potts, Sr. and Sharon Sue Potts, she attended Hanau American High School, Germany, and graduated from Judson High School, Converse, in 1988. Kimberly earned her degree in Respiratory Therapy and worked for Christus Santa Rosa, before finishing her teaching degree in 2006. She taught at Woodlake Hills Middle School in Judson ISD for the past three years and coached the cheerleading squad. Kim was a member of St. John Neumann’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas.
Kim was a generous and selfless soul that touched the lives of everyone that she met. What Kim loved the most was spending time with her family and son; family was the most important thing to her. She loved to travel, and being from a military family spent time in Germany, Hawaii, several states, and took family cruises to the Caribbean. Kim will be missed by many.
Survivors include her son, PVT Donavon W. Potts, US Army; father; CW3 Robert W. Potts, Sr. USA Ret; mother, Sharon Childress Potts; brother, Robert Potts, Jr.; sister-in-law, Wendi Fuson Potts; nephew, Lucas Potts; niece, Sarah Potts; aunt, Judith Childress Tardiff; cousins, Dana Tardiff Shirkey, Allen Tardiff, Andrea Tardiff Affleck; grandmother, Rose Bransfield Potts; uncles, Thomas Potts and William Potts. Kim was preceded in death by grandfathers; CW4 James Potts, USAF Ret; SMSgT Samuel Childress, USAF Ret; and grandmother, Jonia Kerns Childress.
Relatives and friends are welcome at Sunset Chapel, 1701 Austin Highway, Monday, August 16, 5:00 p.m. with Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 17 at St. John Neumann‘s Catholic Church; Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
