David and I heard of your tragedy and we are sorry for your pain. Lance was a cheerful hard working student and an assest to his schools. We have valued your friendship and the many times we socialized together. We will always remember the delicious brisket / mexican dinner that you prepared for the Greene County High School crew. The kids swam and water skyed while some adults took a ride on your boat.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Lance. He always seemed like a nice guy when we were at school together. He was a grade ahead of me, but we had some classes together. I remember he enjoyed playing sports. I know he will be missed by everyone that knew him.

I have many fond memories of Lance from classes we took together, cheering for the Tigers, and summertimes on the lake and at Reynolds. He will be missed. I am so sorry.

Words don't express the emotions that I'm feeling right now. I remember many good times growing up together. Lance and the Engels were the first to welcome me into Greensboro and were like a second family.

WE ATTENDED GTCHS TOGETHER.HE PLAYED FOOTBALL WITH MY BROTHER NICHOLAS JACKSON WHO AT HIS STATUE COULD HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OVER WITH A FEATHER WHEN I GAVE HIM THE NEWS OF LANCE PASSING. YOUR FAMILY IS IN OUR PRAYERS. MAY GOD KEEP AND COMFORT YOU DURING THIS TIME OF SORROW. I HAD NOT SEEN LANCE IN YEARS BUT I REMEBER HIM FONDLY.

Lance and I met shortly after I moved to San Antonio. We became quick friends and I will always cherish the late night competitive Tiger Woods XBOX 360 matches. Wow, I'll never forget Lance. I had the pleasure of getting to know Lance since he lived only 2 to 3 lake houses away from my grandparents' lake house. We used to have parties at the Engel's, which was so great because they had an incredibly beautiful house. I remember he was well-loved by his parents who spoiled him well with sea-doos galore! He was definitely the envy of many a middle-schooler on the lake. Yes, I remember Lance being well-known for his smarts and his sense of humor. Lance was truly a special person. It is rare in life to find someone that is as gifted as Lance Engel. When I mention gifted I mean REALLY gifted. My thoughts are with you guys. All time I spent with Lance was so much fun. I met him my first day of 5th grade. We were both new to the school and he sat in front of me. As soon as I sat down I was terribly nervous. I did not want to be there at all. He turned around with the nicest smile on his face and introduced himself. It put me at ease immediately. I knew from that moment that it was going to be a fun school year, and it was. There are so many more good, fun memories I have of him. Nothing but good memories.
