Laura first met her husband of 54 years Eriberto Jesse Paredes Jr. in 1962 while they were in Middle School. They continued their studies at Fox Tech high school, where they became high school sweethearts. In 1966 they took the vow as husband and wife and began their life together.
Newly married they would move to their first house in "Cementville," where they made countless friends that became their chosen family. As their family grew so did the need for space. They eventually moved to their house on Casa Bello St where Laura became a stay-at-home mom. Raising her four children Jeanette, Adrian, Christie and Nicole and her niece Heather she thought of as a daughter. As a stay-at-home mom she was able to start her 47 year span babysitting career. Throughout these 47 years she gained many bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren. Taking care of multiple generations.
Lauras family was always her top priority. Her most loved role was being a Nana/Grandma to thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and one bonus grandchild. She attended every event she could and was always their number one fan.
Laura fought a long courageous battle after being diagnosed with GBM. She was blessed with amazing doctors throughout her journey. Dr. Ahmed her Neurosurgeon, Dr. Weathers her Neuro Oncologist at MD Anderson, Dr. Mark A Rodriguez, and Heather Miles FNP her PCPs. Her faith, amazing medical team, and outstanding treatment allowed her 4 years past her diagnosis. Her family is beyond grateful for the time they were gifted which allowed them to make many more memories.
