Laurence Fisher, Ph.D. was born in Unionville, CT. He earned a BA in economics from Hobart and an MA and Ph.D. in economics from the University of CT. He was a Professor of Economics at Western Connecticut State University from 1969-1980. In 1981, he joined the economics department faculty of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and retired in 2010 with the honor of Professor Emeritus.
Larry was a world traveler. Over the years, his studies and information gathering took him to many parts of the world, including over forty trips to Europe. He traveled to the far East, China, Japan and many countries in Central and South America. Larry was a faithful member of St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, Brian Fisher and wife Liz of Brooklyn, NY; Alec and wife Heather of Mt. Kisco, NY; grandsons Nate, Lucah and Jackson; his sister Gratia Morgan of Sudbury, MA; his brother Walter Fisher of Burlington, CT; two close friends, Jax Poteet of San Antonio, TX and Tom Zawacki of Fairfield, CT, and numerous nieces and nephews.
