Lawrence was a veteran who served in the United States Army. He was very proud of his service during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Lawrence was honorably discharged in May 19, 1991 after serving for 10 years. After his discharged, Lawrence attended VFW meetings and enjoyed sharing stories and experiences with fellow veterans.
Lawrence was a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys - he never missed a game and always talked about how the teams were doing with his friends and family. When he wasn't working at the VA Hospital, he loved to just sit back and watch wrestling and all his favorite TV shows. Despite his love for sports and TV shows, Lawrence's family was the most important thing to him. Lawrence met Anita Martinez via mutual friends, after pursuing a relationship, the two started going out. They got married and started a beautiful family together. Lawrence cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He made sure to bring them all together for big celebrations, especially during his favorite holiday, Christmas. He always lived life to the fullest and never made a dull moment with loved ones.
