

She was born September 16, 1931 in Carlinville, Illinois to Eugene F. and Louise O. Reesor. She graduated from Carlinville High School, and attended Southern Illinois University where she was a member of Sigma, Sigma, Sigma Sorority.
Lenny was a secretary with the United States Air Force Recruiting Service Headquarters at Randolph AFB.
After retirement, Lenny began an award winning cooking career. She attended cooking schools in Paris and in London as well as many schools in the U.S.
Lenny was a founding member of the San Antonio chapter of "Les Dames de Escoffier," and served as an officer on their board. She loved her "Dames," as she called them. Lenny was also a member of the "International Association of Culinary Professionals and was co-chairwoman of the 1995 International Convention held in San Antonio.
She was a Food Stylist and authored and co-authored 10 cookbooks. Together Lenny and friend, Joan Lyons, had a traveling cooking show called the "Heart of Texas" for 22 years.
Lenny loved to sing. She sang with the Mission Belles Sweet Adeline chorus for 15 years, and was a member of the Coker UMC choir for 21 years.
Lenny is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all.
She is survived by her family: husband of 44 years, John; and three children, Paul Jon Angel and wife Jenet of Pocatello, ID, Leslie Vann and husband Nicholas of St. Hedwig, TX, Dr. John W. Angel II and wife Gayla of Wentzville, MO; and sister, Anne Schuetze of San Antonio, TX. She has three grandchildren, Travis Lambrecht of Marble Falls, TX, Parker and Amber Angel of Wentzville, MO, as well as niece, Angela Stevens; and nephews, Chris Schuetze and Tim Schuetze.
The family would like to thank Odyssey HealthCare Inc., and the nursing staff on the twentieth floor of the Nix Hospital for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial gifts be sent to either the "Lenny Angel Scholarship Fund: with Le Dames de Escoffier, c/o Betty Lee Wilson, 11607 Enchanted Sunset, San Antonio, TX 78253, or to the Coker UMC Choir fund.
