Lera Lorena Powell

Lera Lorena Powell age 84, passed away into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on January 11, 1929 in Blanco, TX to parents, Daniel and Lorena Reeves. Lera and Donald were married for 54 years. As the wife of an oilman, Lera embarked on a great adventure that took her to every continent in the world. They lived in Venezuela, Libya, Egypt, Senegal, Norway, Australia and South Africa. After Donald's passing, she met Harvey Johns, her soul mate for the past 11 years. They enjoyed life together, going on cruises and making the most of their golden years. Although Lera had a full life here on earth, her greatest delight is the life she is living now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is more alive now than she has ever been and we look forward to spending eternity with her. Lera was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Powell; and son-in-law, Charles Sammons. She is survived by daughter, Sandy Sammons; son, Robert Powell (Eileen); partner, Harvey Johns; grandchildren, Aimee Bloom (Brandon), Luke Sammons (Meredith), Adam Sammons, Gabe Sammons (Kylie), Travis Powell (Alisha), Shelby Powell; great-grandchildren, Griffin Bloom, Lucy Bloom, Charlie Sammons, Baby Sammons due in January 2014, Emily Powell and Jackson Powell.
