

Born in Dublin, Texas to P.G. and Anna Proctor, Leta traveled around the world with her career Army husband. Living in Japan, Ethiopia, and Germany, she fulfilled many duties as a military wife.
Returning to San Antonio in 1964, Leta did what she enjoyed most, club work. She was the organizing governor of the San Antonio Company Jamestowne Society, as well as the National Society Ladies of the Thistle, both genealogical societies. She was the President of the Southwest Genealogical Society, San Antonio, Magna Charta Dames, Daughters of 1812, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of American Colonists, the San Antonio Garden Center, Goodwill Industries Auxiliary, San Antonio Flower Show Judges, and The Woman's Club of San Antonio. She was a board member and member of many, many other organizations.
Leta is survived by her husband of 73 years, Colonel Milton "Pete" Baughn, Jr.; son, Tom Baughn of Cordova, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Phil Hetrick; granddaughter, Phyllis Harrington and husband Derk; granddaughter, Pam Kendrick and husband Bill; great-grandchildren John and Trent Kendrick, and James and Anna Harrington; sister-in-law, Virginia Lee Proctor; and niece Joan Proctor all of San Antonio.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Randall Vanover for his care and compassion, as well as Vistacare Hospice and caregivers, Ethel Brown and Stormie Mohr.
