

He left this life to be with Julia, his beloved wife of 62 years. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 16, 1922 to Lewis and Ina Hoppock.
He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. He attended John Tarleton Agricultural College (now Tarleton State University) where he was captain of the corps and an honor graduate.
He married Julia McClelland in Des Moines, Iowa on April 18, 1945.
He was a decorated veteran of World War II and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
He graduated cum laude from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine. He was the first podiatrist at Scott and White Clinic in Temple, Texas where he continued for forty years until his retirement in 1988.
He was a past president of the Texas State Podiatric Medicine Society and was a member of the Texas State Board of Podiatry Examiners for six years. He was named an honorary Texas Colonel.
For many years he was an avid fisherman and an out-door photographer. In later years he became an award winning and published poet.
Mac Hoppock was a kind and generous man who was known for his sense of humor, his intelligence and his art; which he shared freely with all who knew him.
He was dedicated to his family, his church and his career. He took great pride in the easing of his patients suffering.
He was a devoted and loving husband, an inspirational and endearing father, and a cherished grandfather. All who knew Mac Hoppock were better off for the life that he lived.
He was preceded in death by his precious wife Julia.
He is survived by his daughter Carol McGee and husband Bob McGee of San Antonio, sons Douglas Hoppock and wife Sherry Hoppock of Longview and Bill Hoppock of Temple; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
