

Lillian Lucille Schwartz Schleicher, age 99, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2005 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on November 29, 1905. She was the loving wife of George Schleicher for 74 years.
She is survived by her children Diane Cheatham Richard, Richard Schleicher Carol and Gail Woolaway; grandchildren, Deborah, Cynthia, David, Crystal and Wendy; and nine great-grandchildren.
Lucille was born in Secor, IL, but spent most of her life in Michigan. She graduated in piano and voice from the Detroit Conservatory of Music. She was featured in the Detroit Civic Opera Company in the 1920's and with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in the 1940's. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and Tuesday Musicale.
Lucille was a dramatic lyric soprano who was a professional soloist in churches for 30 years. Then she volunteered in choirs until into her 90's. She sang internationally until her 96th year. Lucille was the business manager for her husband's grocery and meat market and for his Robinson Foods Natural Vitamin business. She and her husband retired to assisted living in Texas in 1997. George predeceased her in 2000. She was a member of University United Methodist Church.
