
Linda Ruth Knox Manning, age 53, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2002, after a very short illness of ovarian cancer. Linda was born in Dallas, Texas on February 8, 1949 to Elmer and Louise Knox. She graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Began her teaching career in the Alamo Heights school district in San Antonio, Texas. Later she taught elementary school in Boerne, Texas. After moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1995, she became the athletic director at Incarnate Word Middle School. She loved teaching youngsters about health and fitness. After many years of working with children she became involved in the family business as the comptroller in Corpus Christi, Texas and resided in Rockport, Texas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas and an active member of the Rockport Country Club Women's Golf Association. She was an avid runner and fitness advocate. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband, Bill Manning; her daughters, Reagan Leigh Malatek, Lindsay Malatek Chapman Frank, and Sandra Manning Stanley Mark; her son Hunter Knox Malatek; and three grandchildren, Alissa Davenport, Taylor Davenport, and Colby Manning; her mother, Louise Baker Knox; brothers, Bill Knox Genie, and Larry Knox.
