Lota Brown went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2017 at the age of 87. She was born in Joshua, Texas in 1930, the second of four children to C. F. and Isis Chaney. She attended school in her hometown of Joshua. Upon graduation from high school in 1948, Lota went to work for the Fort Worth Star Telegram. Lota married Doug Brown on February 23, 1952. They raised two sons and shared 65 years together. Lota was an active member of the MacArthur Park Church of Christ for many years. Her passion in life was to serve God and her family. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Lota is survived by her husband, Doug Brown; sons, Mark Brown, Phil Brown and wife Kim; brother, Jack Chaney; grandchildren, Erin Freytag and husband Kolby, and Emily Brown; and great-grandchild, Emery Freytag.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
