Louella Rose Marie Anderson, age 93, went home to be with her Lord on December 30, 2025. Born on November 9, 1932, in Rudolph, Wisconsin, Lou’s life reflected the words of Ecclesiastes 3 - each season marked by purpose, faith, and love.
Lou was born on election night during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidency and spent her early years in rural Wisconsin, where she learned resilience, hard work, and deep family values. She attended the Lone Birch one-room schoolhouse for all eight grades – shaping her lifelong commitment to education.
After graduating from Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids in 1950, Lou worked as a telephone operator before attending Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where she earned a degree in Missions. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Stevens Point and devoted many years to teaching children in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, and North Carolina - touching countless lives in both Christian and public-school settings.
Most importantly, Lou’s life was grounded in her faith in Jesus Christ. She recommitted her life to Christ on April 5, 1949, during a revival meeting - a decision that shaped every chapter that followed. Her faith was evident in her marriage, her parenting, her teaching, and her service alongside her husband in ministry and pastoral work.
Lou married her beloved husband, Dave, on July 1, 1961. As the wife of a chaplain, she faithfully supported his ministry while sharing a life of devotion, teaching, and service. Together they pastored churches and helped start a church in Spring Lake, North Carolina, with a special calling to serve military members and families from Pope Air Force Base and Fort Bragg.
Lou was a devoted mother to her children—Steve, Wendy, and Jeff—and a loving presence in their lives, offering encouragement, discipline, prayer, and unwavering support. She also carried the memory of family members lost too soon, holding them close in her heart throughout her life.
Known for her quiet strength, servant’s heart, and steadfast faith, Lou lived not for recognition but for obedience to God and love for others. Whether teaching in a classroom, hosting prayer meetings, or raising her family, she served faithfully and humbly.
Lou is survived by her children, Wendy (Eric) Hilliard and Jeff (Michelle) Anderson; her grandchildren Jonathan (41), Karissa (29), Christopher (23), Joshua (15), Rebecka (13) and Jaden (10). She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Steve, and her husband, Dave, whom she longed to see again and whom she now rejoins in eternity.
Please join the family for public visitation at Porter Loring Mortuary West on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
A celebration of Lou’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Porter Loring Mortuary West at 10:00 am.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)
