

He was a certified public accountant who practiced for sixty years. He was particularly proud that two of his granddaughters followed in his career path. He was a member of the Texas A&M Association of Former Students, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the San Antonio chapter.
He was a former member of Alamo Heights Kiwanis and the Morning Optimists Club, serving as its Treasurer for many years. He was a Republican Party supporter for over forty years, and served on the Texas Council on Employment and Training Advisory.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Pfeiffer Doehne, and three children: Diane Doehne Rath and husband, Gary Candy; Nancy Wolgamott and husband, James A. Wolgamott, of Houston; and Mark W. Doehne of San Antonio. He is also survived by grandchildren: Reagan Rath of San Antonio; Katherine, Anne and Allie Tropoli of Houston; and Zackery Czech of San Antonio; sister, Lili Thrailkill; niece, Sherri Thrailkill, and many cousins.
