

Louis (Louie) Martinez was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Born in San Antonio, Texas on July 10, 1923 to Albert and Ella Martinez; preceded in death by his precious wife of 54 years, Gloria Neri Martinez and his sister, Mary Louise Martinez.
Louie is survived by his children, Louis A.(Luigi) Martinez, Barbara J. Madrigal and Gregory John Martinez, and their loving spouses: Terri Martinez, Victor Madrigal, Jr. and Addie Rodriguez Martinez; his grandchildren: Lisa Mellors, Chrissy Jones and husband, Mark; Krystal and Olivia and his great-grandchildren: Emma, Claire, Jacob and Tyler; cousin, Pat Carl; close brothers and sisters-in law: Joseph and Mary Alice Correa; Sam and Pinky Sanchez and Stella Mae and the late, Wilton Wilkinson and close relative, Mitzi Neri.
Louie will always be remembered as a faithful and loving companion to his wife, Gloria ~ the love of his life. He will be remembered as his children's anchor.
Louie will also be remembered as an accomplished plumber and a proud member of Local 142 of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union for more than 60 years.
A proud veteran of World War II, Louie served his country courageously as a gunner's mate in the US Navy aboard the USS Pride.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, father, veteran and extremely competent and fair plumber, Louie will be remembered by his acts of kindness, his willingness to help anyone with a plumbing problem and for his great smile.
We know in our hearts, Louie is happy to be back again, forever, with his precious, Gloria.
Louie's children will be eternally grateful to him for his rock-solid presence in their lives.
He was a father who never wavered or let go during the storms of life, and a man of integrity who taught by his own example, the importance of a life well-lived.
Louie's children express their thankfulness and gratitude to Elsie Castillo for her kindness and thoughtful care during his illness.
Visitation will begin on Friday, March 27th at 1:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at the Porter Loring on McCullough.
