

Son of Dominick and Josephine Sgrizzi Marullo, Louis was born November 24, 1918 in Rome, New York. He married Kathryn Stephens in 1945.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 28, 1940. As part of the First Infantry Division, he helped lead military invasions of North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy and saw action in France, Belgium, and Germany.
In 1945 he received a battlefield promotion from Technical Sergeant to Lieutenant for gallantry in action near Le Desert, Normandy. Louis received the Silver Star Medal and two Bronze Star Medals. He also took part in the assault on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. He served 38 months overseas.
In 1953 he served in Korea with the Korean Military Advisory Group and received a meritorious citation by the Korean government for his assistance in the organization of artillery battalions. In 1962 he retired from the Army at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. He then took a position with the Department of the Air Force in the Logistics Management Branch where he held various positions until his retirement in 1988 at the age of 70.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, and daughter-in-law Victoria Marullo.
He is survived by his children, Gregory Marullo of Ft. McMurray, Alberta, Canada; Lawrence Marullo of Kansas City, Missouri; and Barbara Marullo of Dallas, Texas; two sisters and a brother; five grandchildren and one great grandson.
