

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Louis Reyes, peacefully passed away after struggling with Alzheimer’s on January 18, 2021 at the age of 85. Born and raised in Macdona, Texas, he lived his entire adult life in San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents Modesto and Petra as well as his first wife, the former Eva Machado.
After previous retail sales positions, Louis entered an extended civil service career at Kelly AFB. He was fortunate to find new love later in life and remarried in May of 2000. His new wife, Estefana, and her 5 children welcomed Louis into their family and provided years of companionship and additional happiness.
Memories of Louis will include his happy outlook on life and easy-going sense of humor. He was an active parishioner at St. John Berchmans serving as a Eucharistic Minister as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
The family is grateful to the nursing staff from Compassus for their hospice & palliative care services during his final days.
He is survived by his wife Estefana and her extended family; sons Louis and his wife Sonia, Alfred, Rene and his wife Veronica; and six grandchildren (Anthony, Selena, Emily, Timothy, Ryan, and Eva).
The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery in Von Ormy, TX.
Pallbearers are Roger Reyes, David Reyes, Richard Reyes, Rudy Banuelos, Rudy Guevara, Rene Reyes, and Rudy Joseph Banuelos.
Due to Covid Restrictions, only 50 guests at a time are allowed in the funeral home chapel.
Facial coverings are required to be worn at all times while attending services.
