She was born July 10, 1925, in San Antonio to George and Louise Smyth. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in San Antonio where she was a member of the Lassos. Following high school, Louise attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and Bluebonnet Belles, and Trinity University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Smyth and Louise B. Smyth Hope and her brother, George W. Smyth, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James K. Stewart, M.D.; sons, James K. Stewart, Jr. and wife Caren of San Antonio, William S. Stewart and wife Beverly of Beaumont; daughters, Elizabeth L. Stewart, Susanne B. Stewart, both of San Antonio; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stewart Gorman.
