Loy Camille Edgar, age 86, passed away August 31, 2021 in The Woodlands, TX. She was born in Breckenridge, TX on June 25, 1935 to Seth Newman and Elsie Ilene McCleskey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed. Known as Meme by her grandchildren, she loved music, playing bridge, and socializing with friends. Most of all, she loved her family.
Camille was preceded in death by her parents, Newman and Ilene McCleskey. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, David Edgar; sons, Mark Edgar, Ron Edgar, Russ Edgar and his wife, Stephanie; and daughter, Carla Lippincott and her husband, Mark. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:45 am, Monday, September 20, 2021 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter #5). Honorary pallbearers are Jason Edgar, David Edgar, Taylor Lippincott, and Logan Lippincott, Meme’s grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
