Loyd Harold Evans, Sr., age 67, of Boerne, died Thursday, December 7, 2000. In 1982, he started Longhorn Incorporated in Helotes, TX on his pasture. Later, in 1987, he opened up a Longhorn branch in Dallas, TX. Since then there are six stores in the metroplex and three in South Texas. Mr. Evans loved his mules and buggy's. Survivors include his wife, Delores Evans; sons, Loyd Evans, Jr. of Bulverde, Larry Evans of Helotes, Lynn Evans of Grapevine, TX; daughter, Sharon Griffin of Seguin, TX; stepsons, Keith Campbell of New Braunfels and Bennie Campbell of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; sister, Christine Day of Converse, TX; step father, Lt. Col. Lou Abernathy, Ret. of Converse. He was a wonderful dad and husband.
