

Mr. Ciccarelli is survived by his loving wife Dolores G. Ciccarelli and his children: Raymond Barron Ciccarelli, Luigi Domenico Ciccarelli (Eve Roberts), Giovanna Gonzales Ciccarelli-Accinelli (Steve) grandchildren: Yvonne (Benjamin), Normari (Michael), Giovanna Nicole, Daniel (Danielle), Michael, Raymond Josiah, Vittorio Luigi Domenico, Luca Salvatore and great-grandchildren: Angelo, Adam, Dolores, Gloria, David, Michael, Andrew Gage, Stephen, Sebriano, Angel, Gabriel, Ariana, Christopher, as well as sister Saveria and brother Vittorio who reside in Rome, Italy.
Mr. Ciccarelli was an icon in the restaurant business owning and operating Luigi's Restaurant, Caesar's, and La Focaccia Italian Grill. He started the wine tasting trend in San Antonio, was involved in the Taste of the Town, and was recognized and awarded as "Texas Chef of the Year" in 1985.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home located at 1701 Austin Highway with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. A service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. with a private burial for family and close friends. Arrangements under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
In June, 1996, Chef Ciccarelli opened La Focaccia Italian Grill, located in the Historical King William area of San Antonio, Texas. The Instituto Regiomontano de Hoteleria invited Chef Ciccarelli to be a guest Chef in 2004.
Mr. Ciccarelli is considered an icon in the San Antonio Professional Culinary and Restaurant community. His reputation resulted in a popular demand for cooking classes to be offered to teach his authentic recipes. Chef Ciccarelli taught cooking classes at La Focaccia Italian Grill for five years for North East Independent School District, North Side Independent School District, as well as the Alamo Community College District.
His Enthusiasm and contagious personality have never diminished over the years. Today, he continues to visit his restaurant each day, visiting his native Italy each year and always finds time to share a good bottle of wine with his friends.
