

Luis was born in San Antonio to Jesse and Gertrude Reyes on May 8, 1930. He went to high school at Lanier. He married Alicia Ramirez on March 28, 1953, in San Antonio. He worked as a Civil Servant/Computer programmer for Kelly AFB for 37 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Luis was active in his family life participating in family vacations, family gatherings, and BBQs at his home while watching football. He loved the beach and going camping. He especially loved to attend “Pechangas” with his male relatives and his male friends. Luis had two passions which were playing and watching golf and watching his FAVORITE football team, the Dallas Cowboys. In Luis’s eyes they were the greatest team EVER!!!!
Luis is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, four siblings, and a grandchild.
Luis is survived by his wife Alicia Ramirez Reyes, daughter Mary Nancy Cardenas (Pablo), son Michael Luis Reyes (Cindi), daughter Roxanne Reyes Foster (Wesley); grandchildren Angela Reyes Tirado (Danny) Christopher Reyes (deceased) Briana Cardenas (Joe), David Cardenas (Lucero) Stephen Reyes (Gabriella) Luis Gustavo Reyes; great grandchildren, Audriella Cabrera, Mariah Tirado, Makaylah Tirado, Robert Barbosa, Drake Reyes, Christopher Tirado, Liliana Barbosa, Olivia Tirado, Adalina Reyes
His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Pallbearers will be Steve Guerrero, James Young, Danny Tirado, Stephen Reyes, Luis Gustavo Reyes, and Joe Barbosa.
A visitation for Luis will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251. A committal service will follow on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian,11624 Culebra Rd, San Antonio, TX 78253.
