Lynda Lorraine Lundstrom Nowotny

Lynda Lorraine Lundstrom Nowotny embarked on the biggest cruise of all on January 12, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 1, 1949, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the third daughter of Orville Glebe Lundstrom and Marion Johnson Lundstrom.

The family soon moved to Houston, Texas where Lynda graduated from Lamar High School in 1967. She then attended the University of Texas at Austin where she met her future husband Robert Allen Nowotny on a blind date. The couple married in October 1970 after Robert earned his BBA degree. The ensuing years found them living in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Colorado before both returned to the University of Texas where Lynda renewed her education, graduating with a Business Degree in Accounting in 1979.

Upon graduation she worked for a variety of companies in the oil and gas industry specializing in the area of joint venture auditing. In 1987 she decided to go independent. Always in demand, her clients included BP, Exxon, Mobil Oil and Kerr-McGee among many others. These audits required extensive business travel which included a wide array of disparate locations ranging from Beijing, China to Ponca City, Oklahoma and from Trinidad and Tobago to Pascagoula, Mississippi to name only a few.

Lynda's wonderful sense of humor, a trait much needed throughout her 50+ years of marriage, was always evident whenever she and Robert traveled together. All told, they took a total of 31 cruises which transported them around the world, visiting a total of 80 countries with the occasional margarita and cosmopolitan certainly adding to their spirit of adventure.

Lynda is predeceased by both her parents and her sister Candice Lundstrom Christian. She is survived by her husband Robert Allen Nowotny, her sisters Marilyn Evans, Sherry and her husband Jim Kitchell, her nephew Ricky Kitchell, her niece Caroline Kitchell Kabiri Fournier and her husband Jaeson Fournier and their children.
