Lynda graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston in 1967. In 1968, she married Rodrigo Munoz, whom she spent 30 years with as a faithful wife supporting her husbands career at Lubys Cafeteria. During her life she had many careers, including co-owning a Jack In The Box and Carrousel Childrens Shoppe, working for the Dean of the UT School of Nursing, and finally as an investigator for The Attorney General of Texas Child Support Division. However, her most loved position was being a mother. She was a very active volunteer throughout her childrens school years, often in leadership positions. Whether it was serving as the Klein Oak Band Booster President, Project Prom Chair, or Klein ISD District Football Program Chair, she loved being involved with her children and doing everything she could to help the programs they were involved with succeed. Lynda could be seen at every band, orchestra, and choir concert, football and soccer game, dance performance, tennis match, and musical performance no matter how large or small her childrens part. If a chaperone was needed, she would be there.
Lynda was thrilled when she became a grandmother and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She loved driving, especially on long road trips across the United States, often covering more than 5,000 miles per trip. She loved new adventures and meeting new people on her travels. She loved the mountains, the beach, and the plains all equally which meant she met a variety of interesting people.
In 2010 she moved to San Antonio where she found a new life at The Towers at Park Lane. She enjoyed her many new friends and finding a new love and adventure partner, Johnny Weissmuller. Lynda and Johnny were instantly inseparable and remained so for the past seven years. They could be found every Tuesday and Friday playing Farkle with their friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father. Lynda is survived by husband, Johnny J. Weissmuller; brother, Allyn R. Skelton II and wife Margie; her three children and their spouses - Angela Blackiston and Craig, Robert Munoz, Diane Redin and Will; stepchildren, Adam Weissmuller and Debbie, Holly Weissmuller; grandchildren Matthew Munoz, Madison Munoz, Abigail Redin, Thomas Blackiston, Abigail Weissmuller, Morgan Weissmuller, Drew Blackiston, Megan Munoz, Drew Weissmuller, and many nieces and nephews.
