Lynn was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt and Nana, and sadly left us on March 17, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born in San Antonio on July 18, 1944, to John L. “Jack” Pegues and his wife Bonnie Jean Gates. She was the granddaughter of Sunset Scott and Genevieve Pegues, and W.B Gates and Elizabeth “Bonnie” Gates, all of Crystal City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert “Bob” Terrell and their son, Scott, and is survived by her daughter, Susan Storey Rubio and her husband DJ, and her son H. Dudley “Bubba” Storey, IV and his wife Tammy. She was the very proud Nana of her seven precious grandchildren: Lauryn Storey, Lyndsey Storey-Roehl, Matthew Muehlstein, Wesley Evan Storey, Dudley Storey V, Kristin Storey Bonanno and Mitchell Terrell. She was also very proud to be the GREAT grandmother of seven: Madelyn, Mary, Marshall, Millie, Bonnie, Evan and Heidi. Also surviving her is her care-giving and loving sister and brother-in-law, Bonita and Bobby Ward, sister Claudia Barlow and her husband Paul, and her brother Johnny Pegues and his wife Bonnie, along with her nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Lynn was raised in Crystal City where she was a 1962 graduate. She lived in San Antonio for a time, but most of her life was lived in Carrizo Springs.
She loved to read, dance, be with family at the ranch and water ski. Her love of ranching and the water came from her childhood growing up her mother’s farm and ranch in Zavala County and on the Nueces River and the Comanché and Espantosa Lakes. She raised her own children and taught them to love the outdoors and to water ski. She passed her love of all to her grandchildren and taught them to swim. Many fun family times were usually spent at either the ranch, the coast, the Frio River or on the lake at Horseshoe Bay.
She touched countless lives all throughout South Texas with her warmth, kindness, unwavering support for those around her and most especially by the sharing of her faith. She formed and led Bible studies in Stonecroft Ministries and Christian Women's Clubs. She was asked to share her testimony at many Christian Women’s Clubs throughout Texas and was also a leader in the earliest years of Bible Study Fellowship International.
Her professional life involved representing her father’s real estate brokerage as an agent at Town & Country Real Estate and later as an insurance agent. Her successes garnered her many industry awards of achievement in recognition of the outstanding levels of customer service she provided, as well as earning a seat at the “Million Dollar Round Table” for life insurance sales.
She leaves behind a lifetime of many treasured moments and memories of great fun. Her spirit will continue to live on and shared in the hearts of her family and those whose lives she touched. She was cherished and will be deeply missed by all who love her. She proved that love never divides, nor does it ever die…it multiplies so there is always enough to give.
Lynn will be remembered for her compassion and grace. Her memory will inspire her family and friends, reminding them of the importance of faith and unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren know very well how much Jesus loves and forgives without conditions because of her own love for them.
Her greatest legacy on this earth is truly her faith. An untold number of generations will surely be in Heaven because she shared the Good News of The Gospel of Jesus Christ. What she leaves behind is a legacy that is greater than and will outlast jewel or coin.
