Manuel David Perez, age 59, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Dallas, TX. He was born in Austin, TX to parents Manuel and Mary Louise (Teniente) Perez. David graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (Class of '76) and received his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981. He started his radio career in San Antonio, working as a sports reporter and disc jockey for local stations playing music from disco to country. He moved to Dallas in 1985 and began a career in radio media sales lasting over two decades. David loved to fish and was a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Antonio Spurs. To honor his WWII Veteran father, David volunteered daily at the American Legion, Post 453, in Dallas, TX. He cooked, served meals and provided transportation for veterans while befriending all he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Sierra Perez in 2016.
David is survived by his mother, Mary Louise Perez; brother, Bobby Perez, his wife, Julie and their children, Christopher, Brianna and Nicholas; sister, Patty Larsen, and her husband Gregg and their children, Victoria and Christian; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends in San Antonio, Dallas, and Fort Worth.
