Ruiz family, one thing time doesn't erase are memories! Your memories of your love one is what keeps him alive in you'll life's!

I will always remember Manuel's wonderful smile and easy going manner. I am grateful for him and Irene and their family for always making me feel like a part of their family. I have such fond memories of practicing my Spanish with Manuel and Irene. Mis amigos carinos. God Bless the family. Rest in peace Senior.

To the Ruiz family,
What a shock to hear of the passing of your loved one!   Mr. Ruiz was my   Division Chief at when I retired from KAFB.  I own him a lot because of him my civil service career reached the height it did!  My sincere condolence and prayers are with you'll!  May the LORD grant him eternal rest!  May HE also grant you'll peace and comfort during this time of sorrow!!

My father in law, Manuel Ruiz  was an exceptional man. While I’ve only been a part of the family for 18 years I always admired, his service to the community, his generosity towards others, his  humility and above all his commitment to family. He made it a point to always be there for us and especially our kids. Attending many a soccer game, football game, band recital, or grandparents day and enjoying every minute. They loved him dearly.  We all  enjoyed spending time with him, either going to sporting events, watching the Spurs and Cowboys on TV, laughing continuously at the many bar b ques, family  events and holidays . He was quick with a joke and shared many  stories of time spent in aeronautics and his travels across the globe. Mr. Ruiz was a man that enjoyed life, friends, and family. He was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was admired by many, a great role model and my  kids learned so much from him as did I. 

To the entire Ruiz family I am so sorry for your loss, but remain steadfast in the fact that he lives through all of you, his most profound accomplishment, his legacy that will live on for many years to come. 

Rest in peace Dad, until we meet again!

I worked with Manuel at Kelly AFB and considered him to be an exceptional leader and a wonderful man.  He was well respected for his knowledge and technical expertise.  Our son in law is also best friends with Manuel’s son Eddie.  We extend  our thoughts and prayers to the family at this time.  May he Rest In Peace.  

I don’t know how it came to be a part of my family’s photo album whether my dad took the picture or the picture was given to us, none the less it has always been, and forever will be, one of my favorite photos of Manuel!!
I remember my Uncle Manuel as the uncle who was so much fun to be around.  It seemed like the energy around him was always light and up lifting.  And I remember him as normally being one of the first ones in a conversation to crack a joke or say something funny.  Although I was only 3 when my family moved from San Antonio to Florida and through the years didn’t get to many opportunities to travel back to be with my extended family in San Antonio, my Uncle Manuel and Aunt Irene often traveled to Florida to visit with us giving me time to get to know them.  Time I will always treasure!

After my father passed away in 2014, Manuel made sure to keeping in touch with me.  Just 2 months ago, Uncle Manuel texted me thanking me for listing my family tree information on Ancestry.com (I think most of my information actually came from his sister, my Tia Elia) any ways, his text said his DNA test showed we are a match!!  I texted back telling him I’m very happy we are a match because I love having him as my uncle!

Manuel, I truly enjoyed our time with you at RMYA. As board liaison, I would need to contact Manuel and request that he come sign checks as a board member. I never got a "no" from him. "I can come by after church to sign," he'd say, or "I have a doctor's appointment but can go before that." He was truly a blessing to us at RMYA. I met his lovely wife, Irene, as she would tag along from time to time. They were lovely together, reminding me of my own parents.  Irene, my condolences to you and the family. Thank you, Manuel for your time, your kindness, for always being a gentleman to me, and your unconditional support to RMYA. God Bless. 


Thanks Manuel for your years of service to the children of Roy Mass Youth Alternatives.  Your spirit of kindness and care made working with you a joy. Your caring smile and pleasing personality will truly be missed.  Rest well! My condolences to the family.

Uncle Manuel you were always the life of our family gatherings!  You were the person telling the funny stories or jokes!  You were the one laughing the loudest at your own jokes.  I will always treasure our family gatherings and  they will never be the same with you not there. 

  I always thought of you as the picture of perfect health!  I was so saddened to see how quickly your body was attacked so severely.  I was able to see you in the hospital and happy that you knew I was there!  You smiled and said HI!

I will miss you and your huge smile and our visits, you were so easy to talk to. 

My faith teaches me you are with the Lord and all our family in heaven that have preceeded you!  You no longer suffer and you are rejoicing in the heavens.  Rest in peace dear Uncle and let the perpetual light shine upon you!  Until we meet again!  Love you Lulu


We got to know Manuel and Irene through the marriage of our children.  When dining with them at a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, Manuel would sneak off the tell the waiter (in Spanish) to bring him the bill.  He did it more than once.  He and I even played basketball together one time.  Manuel was always pleasant and always a gentleman.  My wife, Marne, and I count he and his wife as good friends.

It was my honor to know Manuel and be a part of his hard work on behalf of the kids at RMYA. May he Rest In Peace.
